I can never be arrested, or deported to Nigeria — Woman who threatened to use poison to kill Yorubas boasts from Canada

Amaka Patience Sunnberger, a Nigerian woman living in Canada, has boldly dismissed any concerns about being arrested or deported after facing calls for investigation by the Canadian government. The outcry stems from a video circulating on X, in which Sunnberger made inflammatory and threatening comments against Yoruba and Benin people during a TikTok livestream on Tuesday.

Her remarks ignited widespread condemnation, prompting notable figures, including Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, to urge Canadian authorities to investigate and prosecute her for alleged violations of both international and Canadian laws.

In response on Thursday, Sunnberger confidently stated that her Canadian citizenship shields her from any legal consequences. She further highlighted the differences between the Canadian and Nigerian legal systems, suggesting that she is safeguarded from arbitrary arrest or deportation.

She said: “Somebody just send me message, say them arrest me, say them wan deport me, with passport? I be Canada pikin.

“See am now, I dey house, why I go dey lie?.”
