JUST IN; Bride allegedly poisons Guest’s food at her own Wedding reception

A bride has allegedly poisoned the food served at her wedding reception in the Jahun Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

The shocking incident left the groom in critical condition and resulted in the death of one guest.

While the motive behind the bride’s actions remains unclear, eyewitnesses speculate that it may have been driven by a personal grudge.

Jigawa State Police Public Relations Officer, Shi’isu Adam, confirmed the tragic event on Friday, stating that an investigation was underway.

“We received a report that the bride had contaminated the food at the reception, which led to the groom falling critically ill,” Adam said.

Two individuals have been taken into custody in connection with the poisoning: the bride and another female accomplice.

Both are currently being questioned by the Criminal Investigation Department of the Jigawa State Police Command as the investigation continues.
