Tinubu’s Minister, Senator Folarin; Ajimobis Wife close ranks vow to win State for President
Key leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, including former Senate Leader Senator Teslim Folarin, Minister of Power Chief Adebayo Adelabu and a former First Lady of the state, Mrs Florence Ajimobi, have pledged to mobilise support to secure the state for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
The party heavyweights made the commitment on Monday in Oyo town at the flag-off of a tour covering 14 federal constituencies across the state, declaring that lingering internal disputes would be set aside in the interest of unity and victory at the polls.
Also present at the event were the Oyo State APC Chairman, Alhaji Olayide Abass; Senators Yunus Akintunde and Sharafadeen Alli; Engineer Idris Adeoye; and former senators Femi Lanlehin and Ayo Adeseun.
Addressing party members, Folarin said stakeholders had agreed to drop individual aspirations and close ranks behind the President’s re-election bid.
He stressed that harmony within the party was essential to achieving their goal of improving Tinubu’s performance in the state in 2027.
“Every leader with 2027 ambitions has set them aside. We must prioritise unity, rebuild internal trust, and deliver a landslide mandate for President Tinubu.
“In 2023, President Tinubu secured 449,884 votes in Oyo State – one of the strongest margins nationwide. Our mission now is to increase that figure by at least 35% through intensified grassroots mobilisation across all 33 local government areas,” he said.
For her part, Ajimobi described the initiative as a rallying point that demonstrates the cohesion and discipline of the APC in the state.
She urged party leaders to work together, maintain peace and strengthen internal bonds as preparations for the next election gather momentum.
