Only five Governors will remain in PDP – Former Gov reveals three more to decamp to APC

Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has predicted that three more governors elected under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will soon resign, signaling further challenges for the opposition party.

Fayose made the disclosure on Wednesday during an interview on Politics Today, a programme on Channels Television.

His remarks come in the wake of Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri’s recent resignation from the PDP.

The two-term governor warned that internal crises could soon leave the PDP with only five serving governors.

“Let me tell you, there are three more governors that will leave soon. There will be five remaining. The five remaining, one of them will struggle to catch the ticket, and they all know that the ticket is an ordinary tissue paper,” Fayose said.

He further alleged that certain PDP governors were undermining the party from within due to personal ambitions.

“They are largely killing the party because they want to control it. This is what happened in 2023,” he added.

Fayose’s comments underscore ongoing tensions within the PDP and hint at potential shifts in the political landscape ahead of future elections.
