New date revealed as IGP extends grace period for tinted glass permit enforcement

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has approved an extension of the grace period for the enforcement of the Tinted Glass Permit requirement until August 12, 2025.

This decision follows widespread public feedback and concerns over the reactivation of the digital application process.

In a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) emphasized its commitment to transparent, inclusive, and citizen-focused policing, assuring Nigerians that their voices have played a vital role in shaping the ongoing review of the system.

According to the statement, the extension will allow for further improvements to the permit application process, ensuring it remains user-friendly, secure, and accessible.

Enhancements are being made to both the physical and digital platforms, with improved verification procedures and streamlined steps to minimize delays and prevent inconvenience.

The NPF reminded the public that the official platform for applying and renewing the Tinted Glass Permit is [http://possap.gov.ng](http://possap.gov.ng), and urged applicants to report any unauthorized fees or extortion during the process. Complaints can be directed to the police via the dedicated hotline: 09169967000.
