JUST IN; IGP Egbetokun approves appointment of new PRO for Lagos Command

The Lagos State Police Command has announced the assumption of duty of Superintendent of Police (SP) Abimbola Adebisi as the new Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command.

The announcement of her appointment, contained in a statement by DSP Babaseyi B. Oluseyi on September 15, 2025, confirmed the approval of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, NPM, Ph.D., with immediate resumption expected.
Adebisi brings with her extensive academic, professional, and operational experience. She holds a BA (Ed) in English Language and Literature from Tai Solarin University of Education, Ogun State, a Postgraduate Diploma in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution, and a Master’s degree in English Language from the National Open University of Nigeria.

She has also obtained certifications in Child Protection from the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre in Accra, Ghana, Human Rights, Human Psychology, and Conflict Management. In addition, she attended the Advanced Detective Course at the Police Staff College, Jos.

Adebisi is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and a member of professional bodies including the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), the International Association of Women Police (IAWP), and the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP).

Her previous postings include serving as Staff Officer to the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Operations, and as Personal Assistant to the Commissioner of Police, Special Protection Unit (SPU). Until her latest appointment, she was the Police Public Relations Liaison Officer at the SPU, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

The Command, in a statement, assured members of the public and the media that Adebisi is committed to strengthening relations between the police and Lagos residents in line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police.
