Igboho backs President Tinubu for second term, says he won’t be an ingrate like Aregbesola
Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has declared his continued support for President Bola Tinubu, saying he would remain loyal to the President because of the role he played in ending his years in exile.
Igboho also took a swipe at the National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rauf Aregbesola, describing the former Osun State governor as “an ingrate.”
Speaking during a visit to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Network in Accra, Ghana, Igboho said he would stand by Tinubu throughout his time in office.
“I will continue to appreciate and support the government of Bola Tinubu for forgiving me and restoring me back from a lonely exile. I will support him for eight years because I am not an ingrate like his former commissioner called Aregbesola,” he said.
The Yoruba Nation campaigner accused Aregbesola of turning against Tinubu despite the opportunities he allegedly received through the President’s political support.
“Tinubu made Aregbesola Commissioner, removed Oyinlola as Governor and put Aregbesola and later Aregbesola became federal minister but see what the ingrate is saying about his benefactor today,” he added.
Igboho also expressed confidence that Tinubu would complete two terms in office, arguing that previous Nigerian presidents had similarly served extended periods.
“May we never be ingrates in our lives. Obasanjo spent 8 years, Buhari spent 8 years, even Jonathan spent about 6 years too.
“Tinubu will complete his 8 years by God’s grace, nothing will stop him,” he said.
