BREAKING; President Tinubu confers OON honour, gifts $100,000 cash award to Super Falcons
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has honoured all 24 players of Nigeria’s triumphant Super Falcons team with the national award of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON), a $100,000 cash prize, and a three-bedroom apartment each.
In addition, members of the technical crew were each awarded \$50,000 in recognition of their contributions to the team’s historic victory.
The honour followed their victory at WAFCON.
The honours were announced during a special reception held at the State House on Monday. The team, led by captain Rasheedat Ajibade and head coach Justin Madugu, arrived at the Presidential Villa at 4:35 p.m. to a warm welcome from President Tinubu and other dignitaries.
