BREAKING; No magic will make Tinubu lose 2027 Presidential poll
Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, Chairman of the North-Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum, has confidently stated that there is no force capable of preventing President Bola Tinubu from securing victory in the 2027 presidential election.
In a statement issued on Friday, January 3, 2025, in Abuja, Zazzaga expressed his firm belief that Nigerians will cast their votes overwhelmingly for Tinubu in 2027.
He explained that by the time the election comes around, the president’s policies would have significantly transformed the country for the better.
Zazzaga, a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council during the 2023 election, was responding to remarks made by Hashimu Suleiman Dungurawa, the Kano State chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
Dungurawa had warned Tinubu to prepare for defeat in 2027 if he sought a second term, citing what he described as “anti-people” policies.
Speaking to journalists in Kano on Thursday, January 2, 2025, Dungurawa criticised Tinubu’s administration, asserting that the president’s policies were damaging to the masses and that Nigerians would vote him out in 2027.
He also expressed confidence that NNPP national leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, would defeat Tinubu in the upcoming election.
“With these harsh anti-masses policies, and your stance on them, just prepare for defeat in the next general elections. You either change them, or we Nigerians will change you,” Dungurawa stated, also claiming that the issues created by the APC government would eventually lead to Tinubu’s downfall.
In response, Zazzaga refuted Dungurawa’s comments, asserting that there was no doubt the APC, under Tinubu, would retain the presidency in 2027.
He defended the bold decisions made by the president, such as the removal of the fuel subsidy and the floating of the Naira, calling them crucial steps toward putting Nigeria on the right track.
Zazzaga further praised Tinubu for making decisions that previous administrations had hesitated to take. He emphasized that while the impact of these policies may not be immediately felt, Nigerians would soon recognize their positive effects.
“There is no magic that will make Tinubu lose the presidential election in 2027. There is no way the President Bola Tinubu-led APC government will not have a second term in office, and this is not because of the incumbency factor, but due to the fact that the President is doing well and his achievements will be appreciated by Nigerians come 2027.
“The policies introduced by President Tinubu, such as subsidy removal and floating the Naira, are necessary steps that had to be taken for the good of the country.
“President Tinubu should be commended for his courage in taking the decisions, which became vital to the survival of the country because previous administrations failed to do the right things.
“Already, the positive impact of the removal of the subsidy and floating the Naira is being felt, and by the time the next elections come around, Nigeria’s economy would have been fully repositioned on the path of sustainable growth that Nigerians would have no choice but to elect President Tinubu for a second term.
“The economic policies introduced by President Tinubu are already making the expected impact with the recent strengthening of the Naira in the foreign exchange market, improvement in the volume of oil production, and rise in foreign reserves, among others. President Tinubu’s policies in the petroleum sector have already eliminated scarcity, and we believe that, with time, Nigerians will witness further reductions in the cost of petroleum products, which would reverse inflation in the country.
“President Bola Tinubu deserves a second term to midwife these reforms, which are already bearing fruit, and I believe all Nigerians should support his administration to improve the situation in the country,” Zazzaga said.
The APC chieftain emphasized that Tinubu’s proposed tax reforms, which he referred to as “pro-poor,” would benefit the general public and promote the growth of small businesses.
Zazzaga also highlighted that the North-Central APC Forum had endorsed Tinubu for a second term after evaluating his administration’s performance in areas such as security, appointments, infrastructure, the economy, and more, giving the President a positive assessment.
“An assessment of President Bola Tinubu’s policies shows that he is taking the country in the right direction and deserves the support of all Nigerians to get the country there.
“The North-Central APC Forum evaluated the programs and initiatives of the Federal Government, and it is evident that, since the current democratic dispensation in Nigeria, no other President has given the North-Central as many opportunities as President Bola Tinubu.
“No other President has brought as many infrastructural projects to the North-Central as the President Tinubu administration.
“The current level of insecurity in the North-Central is less than what was obtainable during previous administrations. Before now, it was difficult for our people, who are mostly farmers, to go to their farms because of insecurity.
“But now, due to the leadership provided by Mr. President, who has given marching orders to the Armed Forces and other security agencies, the people can now go to farm to cultivate and harvest their crops.”
Zazzaga further stated that, just as they did in the 2023 election, the North-Central APC Forum will mobilise support for Tinubu’s reelection in 2027.

Scores of terrorists neutralised after Major attacks on military base
Nigerian troops have successfully neutralised several terrorists and thwarted coordinated attacks in Adamawa and Borno States.
The Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai, announced that the successes followed swift and decisive responses by soldiers to attempts by insurgents to overrun military formations in the North-East.
In a statement issued on Friday, Acting Media Information Officer of the Task Force, Lieutenant Solomon Atokolo, confirmed that the operations resulted in heavy casualties for the terrorists.
He explained that the first attack took place in the early hours of January 16, 2026, when insurgents targeted a patrol base at Sabon Gari in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
Atokolo stated that troops under Sector 4 of Operation Hadin Kai quickly engaged the attackers and successfully repelled them. He added that reinforcements from Gulak and the Battalion Quick Reaction Force were promptly mobilised to support the operation, ensuring that the assault was decisively crushed.
“The terrorists were successfully repelled without any casualty to our troops or damage to equipment, forcing them to abandon the attack,” the statement said.
He added that security forces later carried out clearance operations in the surrounding area, scanning for improvised explosive devices and booby traps to guarantee the safety of both civilians and personnel.
In a separate incident on the same day, terrorists staged a large-scale, multi-directional attack on Forward Operating Base (FOB) Azir in Borno State.
The attackers attempted to breach the base’s defensive perimeter but were met with fierce resistance from troops. With support from the Air Component and other Nigerian Army aerial platforms, the soldiers unleashed sustained firepower that compelled the insurgents to retreat.
Although rocket-propelled grenade fire from the terrorists damaged some troop-carrying vehicles and partially affected the base’s CCTV control room, Atokolo said troops maintained full control of the situation and prevented any further breach.
The military spokesperson disclosed that several weapons and ammunition were recovered from the fleeing terrorists.
Items seized included a 60mm mortar tube, mortar bombs, locally fabricated explosives, heavy machine gun rounds, and hundreds of rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition.
The Joint Task Force commended the professionalism and resilience of the troops, reaffirming its commitment to sustaining operations aimed at restoring lasting peace and security to the North-East region.

Federal Govt warns States against negotiating with Bandits
The Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, has urged state governments across the country to stop engaging in negotiations with bandits, warning that such actions undermine national security efforts.
Musa made the call during an interview with BBC Hausa, where he expressed concern that dialogue with criminal groups weakens ongoing military operations.
According to him, reaching agreements with bandits often proves futile, as they cannot be trusted to honour their commitments.
He argued that many of the criminals lack genuine remorse and are likely to renege on any deals struck with them.
The minister disclosed that the Katsina State Government was cautioned over its recent decision to facilitate the release of 70 suspected bandits from custody.
However, the Katsina government had defended the action, describing the move as essential to consolidating community-driven peace agreements with “repentant bandits” in several local government areas.
“Negotiation with bandits is not a way out, those people are not real, whenever they come for reconciliation, they need something,” Musa spoke in Hausa language.
“What’s happening in Katsina we told them, don’t ever make the mistake of reconciling with those people, they are liars.
“We begged people to stop negotiating with them and the government should stop. It’s not right and they will surely come back again. They don’t fear God.
“We already informed them it damages our work, we asked them to stop, you know it’s democracy now not military rule. But we are in talk with them.”
The defence minister refuted claim that the federal government pays ransom to kidnappers.
“Paying ransom is not good. People should stop paying ransom when they kidnap people. Report should be made and actions will be taken.”
“Federal government doesn’t pay for ransom. It might be other people and they are doing that on their own.”
