Group mobilises solidarity support for ex-IG of Police ahead of 2027 Guber race

A support group backing the governorship ambition of former Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, has concluded plans to stage a major solidarity rally in Keffi, Nasarawa State, on Monday.

The group, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu Support Group Organisation (MAASGO), said the rally is aimed at mobilising grassroots support and promoting the candidacy of the ex-police chief ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Tagged “Mega Rally in Keffi for Ex-IGP M. A. Adamu Mandate for Governor 2027 Nasarawa State,” the event is expected to draw supporters from across the state.

According to the rally itinerary, participants will converge at the Nasarawa State University (NSUK) Gate in Keffi, from where a procession will move through key parts of the town and surrounding areas.

Speaking on the planned rally, a member of the group, Awal Nurain, said the initiative is driven by confidence in Adamu’s track record in public service.

“I’m more than convinced that Retired IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu has what it takes to lead Nasarawa State as the governor. If we go by his past records of performance in public service as a police officer where he rose through the ranks to become the IGP, that is no mean feat by any standards,” he said.

He added that the group believes the former IGP’s experience positions him as a strong contender for leadership in the state.

“The people of Nasarawa State will be lucky to have him as governor and that is why members of the Mohammed Abukakar Adamu Support Group Organisation (MAASGO), have no qualms at all throwing our weight behind him and want to rally support for him ahead of the 2027 general elections.”
