Soldiers from the 63 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Asaba have gunned down three suspected kidnappers following a gunfight in the Otulu community, Aniocha South Local Government Area.

The suspects were killed after they abducted Igiri Samuel, a staff of Seth Integrated Farms, and a young woman on Friday in Akwu-kwu-Igbo.
Following the abduction, the Government House tracking unit, working with troops from the 63 Brigade, located the suspects and trailed them from Atuma-Iga to their hideout in Otulu.
Upon sighting the soldiers, the kidnappers opened fire, but they were quickly overpowered in the ensuing exchange.
