In a shocking incident that has rocked Ugboroke Community, a 35-year-old barber met a tragic end following an alleged assault orchestrated by his girlfriend’s father.
Ikolo Ochuko, who owned a barbing salon in Uvwie Local Government Area, succumbed to his injuries on December 20 after being brutally attacked eight days earlier.
The alleged perpetrator, identified only as Okandeji, reportedly led a group of thugs in the assault, supposedly disapproving of his daughter’s relationship with a barber.
Sources reveal that Okandeji had previously threatened Ochuko, demanding he end his relationship with his 20-year-old daughter.
Despite Ochuko’s compliance with these demands and distancing himself from the relationship, he was allegedly ambushed at his workplace.
The assault has triggered unrest in the community, with several suspects fleeing as police took Okandeji into custody.
