Suspect sets ablaze by angry mob allegedly for beheading Widow on her farm
The Delta State Police Command has verified that a mob has set a suspect on fire for his involvement the beheading of a widow on her farm in Otor-Owhe, Isoko North Local Government Area of the state.
According to information obtained, the culprit, Oghenero, 37, killed and severed the widow known as “Oshomirara” on her property on Wednesday.
According to witnesses, the guy was seen running from the jungle while carrying a polythene bag soaked in fresh blood that contained his decapitated head.
When they heard the suspect’s movements and found the victim’s headless body on her farm, they sounded the alarm and pursued Oghenero.
According to reports, a group of young people and members of a local vigilance organization invaded Oghenero’s home and discovered the woman’s skull.
According to reports, the angry crowd captured him, demobilized him on both legs as he tried to flee, and then burned him on fire.
The motive for the heinous act of murder is still unknown, and it has become even more so since the key suspect was silenced at the moment the report was filed.
The defendant had already been lynched and burned before the police could reach the crowd, according to Delta State Police Public Relations Officer SP Edafe Bright, who expressed disapproval of the practice of jungle justice becoming more prevalent in society.
He said: “The suspect murdered the woman in the bush, severed her head, and took it to his house.
“When the headless body was discovered, members of the community traced him to his residence, found the victim’s head, and proceeded to set him ablaze.”
