FG gives update on N20,000 palliative to Nigerians
Haiya Sadiya Umar Farouq, Nigeria’s Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, has provided an update on provision of palliatives to Nigerians to cushion the effect of the deadly Coronavirus pandemic.
The Minister disclosed that over 2.6million households have so far collected the N20,000 Coronavirus palliative issued by the federal government.
Farouq spoke to reporters after the presidential task force meeting in Abuja on Thursday.
According to the Minister, over 11 million vulnerable persons that have been identified accross the country will benefit from the palliative measure.
2.6m households are from the FCT, Nasarawa, Katsina and Anambra states.
Farouq also said the ministry is working seriously to cover additional 1m households subsequently.
She insisted there is no favoritism in the palliative support.
