REVEALED; Three PDP Governors that boycotted Ibadan National Convention

At least two PDP governors, previously accused of leaning toward the ruling APC, were notably absent from the party’s ongoing national convention in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The absent governors are Ademola Adeleke of Osun State and Agbu Kefas of Taraba State.

Both have faced prior allegations of attempting to defect to the APC, claims they have repeatedly denied.

In contrast, several other governors attended the convention, including Ahmadu Fintri (Adamawa), Caleb Mutfwang(Plateau), Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), and the host, Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.
Reports also suggest that Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara may skip the event due to his alignment with the faction led by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.

Despite conflicting court rulings attempting to halt the convention, the exercise is underway.

The Wike-led faction has opposed the convention, while the Umar Damagum-led faction remains determined to proceed with the elections.

The absence of the Osun and Taraba governors highlights ongoing internal tensions within the PDP, particularly around loyalty and factional alignments ahead of the party’s national elections.
