Prophet Melody Adjija, cleric and founder of Light Way Ministries (also known as Last Bus Stop), has lost the bid to reverse the allegations of fake miracles leveled against him by the Police at the court.

The prophet was arrested by the former DPO of Nigeria Police Divisional Headquarters, Ebrumede, CSP Eyoh Anietie, for staging fake miracles in 2019.

The video of the prophet’s interrogation somehow got leaked to the media, and this prompted the prophet to seek for N2 billion damage to his personality in the court of law by filing a case against the Delta State CP and the former DPO, CSP Anietie at the high court through his lawyer, Omemiroro Ogedegbe Esq.

However, the State’s High Court 2 sitting in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area, dismissed the prophet’s application against the police.

The counsel to the CP and DPO, DSP Sunny Irabor, insisted in court that the police has power over interrogation videos as stated by Section 15 (Subsection 4) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act,2015.

DSP Irabor explained that it was unfortunate that the former DPO’s phone was stolen after the interrogation and he made report right away, even before the video was posted on social media.

DSP Irabor, therefore, prayed the Court to dismiss the cleric’s application against the Police.

Chief Judge Mudainohwo, who presided over the sitting at the High Court 2, ruled that the prophet’s application was “frivolous” and “lacking in merit,” dismissing same in its entirety. He also held the filming of the applicant was in line with Section 15 (Subsection 4) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015.
