President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday delivered a strong endorsement of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Nyesom Wike, commending his performance in the ongoing transformation of Abuja into a modern capital city.
The President, who was represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima at the commissioning of Collector Road CN2 (Emmanuel Okanla Boulevard) and other road projects in Katampe District, said Wike had justified the confidence placed in him.
“When I gave him the assignment to make Abuja a true capital city, I knew his track records. Wike, you have not disappointed Mr. President,” Tinubu said.
He praised the minister’s pace of delivery across multiple sectors, including roads, water infrastructure, judicial buildings and urban renewal projects within the Federal Capital Territory.
“From transforming abandoned roads into new boulevards, to delivering water projects and judicial quarters, you work day and night. You do not give excuses; you give results. The people of the FCT call you ‘Mr. Project’ for a reason,” the President said.
The commissioning formed part of an ongoing series of project inaugurations by the FCT Administration, showcasing infrastructure delivered under the Tinubu-led government.
Tinubu said the newly completed road symbolised the administration’s commitment to visible development and improved governance delivery.
He noted that the installation of solar-powered streetlights along major corridors had enhanced security and revived nightlife in parts of Abuja.
“We have installed solar street lights, and today Katampe is bright at night. Abuja’s city life is coming back, and criminal hideouts are disappearing. This is exactly what good governance delivers: security, mobility and dignity,” he said.
The President added that the project went beyond physical infrastructure, describing it as a broader symbol of hope and governance impact.
“CN2 is more than concrete and asphalt. It represents hope. It demonstrates that government can deliver. It shows Nigerians that the Renewed Hope Agenda is translating into tangible results,” he said.
