President Tinubu hails Ganduje, passes vote of confidence on APC leadership
President Bola Tinubu has expressed confidence in the ability of the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership to build the nation, and significantly contribute to Africa’s growth.
Tinubu said this on Tuesday while addressing the APC Caucus meeting at the State House in Abuja.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the Renewed Hope Manifesto of the APC.
“We can steer the future of this country and make a difference. I like what is happening around the world.
” It is teaching a lesson that we, particularly Nigeria is a great African country that can build and help Africa to grow,” he said.
He underscored the importance of achieving food sovereignty and not just food security to better reposition the country as the nation with the capacity to reposition the continent.
“I am a very happy man, the sunny side of this country is on the horizon. Things are getting better, the days of gloom are gone.
”We are looking at the brighter and the sunny side of our country and our people.
He reassured the party members of his resolve to deliver inspite of the misleading, baseless, and pessimistic assertions made by his critics.
Tinubu noted the challenges confronting Nigerians regarning some of the policies introduced by his administration.
He said the fuel subsidy would have wrecked the country and denied citizens the opportunities of benefiting from the well-intended government interventions.
“Our determination to deliver is unshaking inspite of the cacophony of misguided unfounded and gloomy claims on the stage of the nation made by our detractors.
” They will continue to do it but we are extremely focused,” he said.
Tinubu appealed to the APC Caucus members to further bear with his administration
” Our strategic repositioning requires us to build on our success and project a forward looking agenda that resonate with the hopes and aspiration of Nigerians.
“I am here promising that we are doing that, I have a commitment to our manifesto progressive ideas and the believe.”
Tinubu commended the APC National Chairman, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje for the successes recorded in various elections.
“I thank the chairman of our party, Thank you Mr Chairman ,you have earned accolades from various elections
“You are our pride, we have a hardworking individual that have led the party so well and the members of working committee.” President Tinubu added.
Also, Sen. Abdulaziz Yari (APC- Zamfara West) testified during the APC Caucus meeting that the security situation had significantly improved in Zamfara. (NAN)

BREAKING; Dangote announces significant reduction in petrol price per litre
Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot (gantry) price of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, commonly referred to as petrol, by N65.00.
According to Dangote, this adjustment is designed to provide essential relief to Nigerians ahead of the Ramadan season.
With the latest reduction, the management of the refinery stated that Nigerians will be able to purchase Dangote petrol at the following prices in all partner retail outlets:
“For MRS Holdings stations, it will sell for N860 per litre in Lagos, N870 per litre in the South-West, N880 per litre in the North, and N890 per litre in the South-South and South-East, respectively,” a statement read.
This is the second PMS price reduction in February 2025, following a previous N60.00 decrease earlier in the month.
In December 2024, the refinery reduced the price of PMS by N70.50, from N970 to N899.50 per litre.

Command CP orders removal of DPO over crime rate
Delta State’s Police Commissioner, Olufemi Abaniwonda, has announced the redeployment of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ogwashi-Uku.
The redeployment follows a disturbing surge in kidnappings and armed robberies in the area.
The decision came in response to widespread complaints circulating on WhatsApp and other social media platforms, highlighting the worsening security situation in Ogwashi-Uku, located in Aniocha South LGA.
In an effort to tackle the rising crime rates, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Operations, Aina Adesola, has been tasked with deploying tactical units to the region.
These units include specialized teams such as Dragon Patrol, Eagle-Net, and the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), which have been strategically positioned to combat criminal activities.
Additionally, the Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber-Crime Squad (SAKCCS) has been directed to relocate to Ogwashi-Uku, adopting an intelligence-driven strategy to track down, arrest, and prosecute those behind the criminal acts.
The State Intelligence Department (SID) has also been mobilized to conduct undercover operations and gather critical intelligence to further disrupt the criminal network in the area.
Abaniwonda reassured Delta residents of his unwavering commitment to ensuring their safety, emphasizing that the security of lives and property remains the police’s top priority.
He urged the public to stay alert, report any suspicious activity, and collaborate with law enforcement to help restore peace.

Pastor arrested by Police operatives over alleged murder of 7-year-old Boy
A 45-year-old pastor named Ijebor Simon and a 23-year-old named Destiny Okojabhole have been taken into custody by Edo State Police Command operatives for the alleged murder of a seven-year-old boy named Evans Okojabhole in Irrua, Esan Central LGA.
This was revealed by Moses Yamu, the Command’s spokesperson, in a statement provided to reporters in Benin City on Wednesday.
According to Yamu, John Okhojibole of Jehovah Witness Road, off Elebesunu Street, in Irrua, reported the case of the minor’s suspected murder to the Irrua Divisional Headquarters.
According to him, the incident was reported at approximately 1:45 PM on February 22, 2025.
John Okhojibole, the complainant, claims that 24 hours after his kid was reported missing, the remains of his seven-year-old son were found in the bush near their home, with his feet severed and his stomach torn open.
According to a spokeswoman for the Command, the two suspects were taken into custody by Irrua Divisional Headquarters agents during initial investigations.
According to him, the case has been forwarded for additional investigation to the State Criminal Investigations Department Benin-City.
