Ex– Governor El-Rufai’s former commissioner reportedly arrested

Jafaru Ibrahim Sani, a former Commissioner in Kaduna State during the administration of Nasir El-Rufai, has been arrested by security operatives in Kaduna, though the details surrounding his detention remain unclear.

Sources close to Sani, who requested anonymity, stated that he was taken into custody at approximately 10:45 a.m. on Thursday after leaving his residence. He was reportedly transported to court later that day and subsequently remanded in a correctional facility.

While the exact reason for his arrest has not been disclosed, there is speculation that it may be connected to his recent departure from the All Progressives Congress (APC), along with five other former commissioners, following El-Rufai’s resignation from the party.

“Jafaru was taken into custody around 10:45 a.m. on Thursday after leaving his house. He was later taken to court and subsequently remanded.

“No reason was given for his arrest. He was among the six former commissioners who left the All Progressives Congress (APC) after El-Rufai resigned from the party.

“We do not know the reason for his arrest or the charges against him, but he was taken by uniformed security personnel and moved to court. We believe he is now in prison,” the source added.
