Police officer identified, arrested allegedly for shooting Man dead

In Otuocha, Anambra State, a tragic confrontation at a police checkpoint escalated dramatically when an officer shot and killed a young man over a dispute involving N100.

Eyewitnesses who confirmed to Daily Post reported that tensions flared rapidly, culminating in the fatal incident, reportedly led by Officer Onyebuchi.

The Saturday shooting has ignited protests among local youth, prompting widespread outrage and raising serious questions about police behavior in the region.

Although it’s unclear if the disagreement was linked to bribery or simply a dispute over change, police authorities have confirmed the occurrence.

SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the spokesperson for the state police, stated that the command is fully aware of the incident and is actively managing the situation’s aftermath

He said: “The Police Officer involved has been identified as Inspector Sani Suleiman.

“He has been disarmed and detained for further investigations and internal disciplinarian procedures.”
