Police gives update on probe of Pastor Paul Adefarasin after viral gun video
The Lagos State Police Command has officially cleared Pastor Paul Adefarasin, founder of the House on the Rock Church, of any wrongdoing after a viral video showed him holding what was initially believed to be a gun.
Pastor Adefarasin voluntarily appeared at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja for questioning following public concern over the footage.
During the meeting with investigators, he gave a cautionary statement as part of the inquiry.
In a statement released by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, police confirmed that the object seen in the video was a stun gun, not a lethal weapon.
“After a thorough investigation, it was established that the object in question was a stun gun and not a lethal weapon or firearm. Consequently, there are no sufficient grounds to proceed with the matter. The case is hereby discontinued,” the statement read.
The police also reaffirmed their commitment to public safety and transparency in handling sensitive issues, urging Lagos residents to remain calm and trust the ongoing efforts of law enforcement.
