Peter Obi’s staunch supporter rates President Tinubu as a smart politician
Former Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, Sam Amadi, has described President Bola Tinubu as a highly strategic politician, while questioning his governance performance.
Amadi, a known supporter of Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, made the remarks in a post on his official X handle, where he assessed the President’s political tactics ahead of the 2027 election cycle.
He said that although the President may not have performed strongly in governance, he remains effective in political manoeuvring.
“President Tinubu is unarguably a smart politician. He knows the game of Nigerian politics. He can beg and can draw blood when he needs to.
“Yes, he has not been a good president in terms of governance in the last 2-3 years. But he scores above 70% in political scheming.
“Ok, he lured federal legislators to come over to his party. Now he leaves them stranded. He rightly chooses the Governors who have what it takes for the ground operations of winning elections in Nigeria illegitimately.
“Meanwhile, the legislators have delivered on a bad electoral law that helps him. That is political smartness. Even if it’s self-serving”.
