Peter apprehended by Police officers over sudden death of his Girlfriend
A wheelbarrow pusher, identified only as Peter from Benue State, has been taken into custody by detectives from the Nkpolu Police Division in the Mile 3 Diobu area of Port Harcourt, following the death of his girlfriend, known as Mummy, on Thursday.
The tragic incident occurred when Mummy, an Ogoni native who sold perishable food items on Bishop Okoye Street, visited Peter’s home to spend the night.
Early the next morning, Peter reportedly discovered her lifeless body and raised the alarm.
Neighbors, alerted by the commotion, quickly contacted the police.
Officers arrived at the scene to assess the situation, secured the area, and arrested Peter as the primary suspect.
The cause of Mummy’s death remains unclear, and her body was removed for further investigation.
Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the arrest, adding that an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death is ongoing.
“The suspect has been arrested, and an investigation is underway,” she stated.
