Obi was beautifully bounced from seeing Pope – Former Minister mocks ex-LP presidential candidate
Former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted to a viral video showing Labour Party’s former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, allegedly being denied entry by Vatican security during the inauguration of Pope Leo XIV.
The video, which has been widely shared online, shows Obi alongside Cardinal Francis Arinze engaging with a Vatican security officer, while other dignitaries made their way into the VVIP section of the event.
Reports suggest Obi was stopped for not presenting the mandatory invitation pass.
Responding via his X handle, Fani-Kayode mocked Obi, claiming he was “beautifully bounced” from the venue until President Bola Tinubu stepped in to assist.
He wrote, “Despite Cardinal Arinze’s noble efforts it appears that #PeterObi was not allowed in to see the Pope. He was beautifully bounced until #officialABAT put in a word for him and he was later allowed in to pay homage. Even then he was not allowed anywhere near the Pope and instead went and paid homage to our President.
“Obidients take note: only go where you are accepted and appreciated and not where you are tolerated”.
