BREAKING:30 staff members of the same company test positive to COVID-19

An undisclosed company in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo state, has accounted for 30 COVID-19 confirmed cases in the state, says Governor Seyi Makinde.
Seyi Makinde, Governor of Oyo, made this disclosure in a statement on Saturday night, while addressing newsmen on the state of COVID- 19 in the state.
The Governor disclosed that 31 new cases have been discovered in the state, with the unnamed company, which is situated in Ibadan South-west local government area of the state according to him, accounting for 30 of the confirmed cases. The governor however added that the company has been shut down for decontamination.
“The COVID-19 confirmation tests for thirty-one suspected cases came back POSITIVE. Thirty of these cases are members of staff of the same organisation based in Ibadan South West Local Government Area. The organisation has been shut down and will be decontaminated,” the statement read.
“We urge members of the public to remain calm as the situation is under control. Intensified contact tracing has already commenced. We will give an update on any additional measures that may need to be taken.
“The remaining one case is from Egbeda Local Government Area. So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State as at 8 PM today, is 107.”
The governor however called for calm and urged anyone who believes to have come in contact with a coronavirus patient to register with the state emergency operations centre for their samples to be collected for testing.
He also urged people to report travellers arriving in their communities to the appropriate authorities, as part of efforts to contain the spread of the virus.
