Suspect arraigned for allegedly inflicting axe injuries on neighbour
The Police in Lagos on Friday arraigned a 53-year-old man, Kehinde Akingbade in a Chief Magistrates’ Court in Badagry, for allegedly inflicting axe cuts on a neighbour.
The defendant, whose address was not provided, is facing two-count charge of assault and breach of peace.
The Prosecutor, ASP. Clement Okuoimose told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Oct.10, about 4.00p.m, at Kiki Plaza, near Badagry Main Roundabout, Lagos.
The prosecutor alleged that the defendant unlawfully used an axe to inflict deep cuts on one Eniola Odu’s left shoulder.
Okuoimose said the attack caused pandemonium thereby causing breach of the peace in the area.
He said the offences contravened Sections 246 and 168, of the Criminal Laws of Lagos state, 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr A.J. Aina granted the defendant bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He ordered that the sureties must be civil servants on level 12.
Aina adjourned the case until Nov. 14, for mention. NAN
