JUST IN; Two Suspects arrested by Policemen in connection with murder of Army General
Operatives from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have apprehended two high-profile suspects in connection with the murder of retired Brigadier General Uwem Udokwere, who was tragically killed in his Abuja residence on June 21, 2024.
The suspects, identified as Alkasim Mohammed and Suleiman Abdullahi, were reportedly captured during a covert operation by the police’s ‘Scorpion Squad’ in Durumi Phase 2, Abuja, according to sources cited by Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focusing on the Lake Chad region.
During the operation, law enforcement recovered a Beretta pistol, bearing the breach number 58866, along with 11 rounds of 9mm live ammunition.
The source said: “During interrogation, the suspects confessed to being part of a notorious gang responsible for multiple high-profile crimes in the FCT, including the murder of Brigadier General Udokwere, a retired senior military officer.
“He was fatally attacked in his home in Lokogoma by armed robbers after gaining access through the fence and shot him.
“The suspects admitted to the March 7, 2024 murder of Alhaji Auwal Abdullahi, a Bureau De Change operator at Room 303, Rita Lori Hotel, Garki.
“The same pistol recovered from the suspects was allegedly used to rob a POS operator, Miss Mercy Alo, of ₦700,000 at her shop in Jabi.
“The gang also shot a customer, Daniel Inalegwu, in the lower thigh before fleeing.”
