9 Pastors arrested by Police for flouting lockdown order

Most State Governments in Nigeria have put in place several measures to curb the spread of coronavirus in the country, however a number of religious organizations are going against the order and flouting the rules.

In Bayelsa State about nine Pastors from different Churches have been arrested by the State Task Force on COVID-19 for going against the ban on social and religious gatherings in the State.

The Pastors were picked up for organising Sunday services for their members as against the lockdown order put in place by the State government.

Names of arrested Pastors are given as P. B. Barima; Timi Aaron; Adaba Glory; and Chris Ezene.

Others are Plus B. James; Prophet Alfred Munemune; Daniel Owi; Sardauna Oguta; and Tony Samugba.

Confirming the arrest, the Task Force disclosed that the Pastors were being detained at the State Police CID, Yenagoa, and would be made to face the full wrath of the law for their actions.
