JUST IN; Governor’s aide kidnapped by gunmen

Muhammed Egye Osolafia, widely known as Deedat and serving as the Senior Special Assistant on Humanitarian Services to Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule, has reportedly been abducted by gunmen.

The incident occurred on Saturday night shortly after Osolafia returned to his home in the Tudun Amba area of Lafia, the state capital.

Eyewitnesses say the assailants stormed the neighborhood, firing sporadically into the air to scare off residents before seizing their target.

Peter Ahemba, Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Affairs, confirmed the abduction to Daily Post, calling the event both “sad and unfortunate.”

He said he was informed of the incident by a fellow government official.

This latest abduction follows a similar incident just two months ago, when Barrister Yusuf Musa, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Culture, was kidnapped from his home in Ungwan Nungu, also in Lafia.
