JUST IN; Governor sacks political appointees in cabinet

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has approved the immediate removal of six political appointees and suspended the Chairman of the Plateau State House of Assembly Service Commission in a major shake-up aimed at boosting governance and service delivery.

The Secretary to the State Government, Samuel Jatau, confirmed the action in a statement, explaining that the move is part of efforts to “reposition the administration for greater efficiency and better alignment with its policy priorities.”

The six officials dismissed, Timothy Golu, Gwottson Fom, Nanbol Rimvyat, Nannim Langyi, Paul Datugum, and Nimchak Rims—held various liaison and advisory roles within the government.

The statement did not provide specific reasons for their removal but expressed gratitude for their contributions and instructed them to return all government property immediately.

In a related development, Johnbull Shakarau, Chairman of the Plateau State House of Assembly Service Commission, has been suspended pending the outcome of investigations into allegations of misconduct.

The government described the measures as part of a broader strategy to strengthen administrative oversight, improve efficiency, and ensure that public offices serve the state’s developmental priorities effectively.
