JUST IN: Federal Govt investigates K1 De Ultimate over Abuja airport incident

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has launched a full investigation into an incident involving popular Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, also known as K1 De Ultimate, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

According to FAAN spokesperson Obiageli Orah, the incident took place on a Lagos-bound ValueJet flight on Tuesday. The musician allegedly spilt alcohol on an airport officer during the boarding process.

FAAN’s statement provides a detailed account of the events.

“During boarding, the passenger attempted to carry an unidentified liquid substance on board despite repeated warnings from Aviation Security personnel and the Flight Captain,” FAAN said.

The liquid was later identified as alcohol, which the musician was reportedly carrying in a flask, a clear violation of aviation laws.

“The passenger was informed of this regulation but reportedly declined to comply,” the statement continued.

“As boarding continued, an airline security officer asked the passenger to step aside for further clarification. The passenger allegedly refused and spilled the contents of the flask on the officer, which turned out to be alcohol. The Flight Captain intervened but faced similar resistance.”

The situation escalated when the singer reportedly moved to the front of the aircraft and refused to move until security officers intervened and removed him.

FAAN has made it clear that it will not tolerate such behavior.

“The Authority will not tolerate any actions that compromise operational integrity or undermine aviation safety standards, regardless of the individuals involved,” the statement warned.

“This matter is under thorough investigation, and all parties found culpable will be held accountable according to the law.”

In a related development, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has already suspended two ValueJet pilots in connection with the incident, which has been labeled a serious breach of safety protocols.
