JUST IN; Another Governor present at Ibadan Convention condemns expulsion of Wike from Party

Governor of Plateau State Caleb Mutfwang, has said he does not support the expulsion of Nyesom Wike, minister of the federal capital territory (FCT), and other leaders from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a statement issued on Saturday, Gyang Bere, Mutfwang’s director of press and publicity, said the governor was not part of any consultation that led to the action

Bere said the issue was neither tabled at the PDP Governors’ Forum nor discussed at the party’s national executive committee (NEC).

He added that the decision does not represent the governor’s stance on the matter.

Mutfwang said taking such a decision at a sensitive moment in the party’s history would not help efforts to address its internal disputes.

He said the PDP needs unity, honest engagement and a collective approach to reposition itself.
