If Nigerians can tolerate Buhari for 8 years they should also endure President Tinubu till 2031 – Ex PDP Gov
Muazu Babangida Aliyu, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation, on Thursday suggested that if Nigerians tolerated former President Muhammadu Buhari for eight years, they could also try President Bola Tinubu till 2031.
Aliyu made this statement during an interview with Arise Television, where he reflected on Nigeria’s political history and emphasised the importance of patience with the current leadership.
Addressing the prospects of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) unseating the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Tinubu, the former Niger State governor challenged opposition groups to present credible alternatives to the Nigerian populace.
Regarding the country’s informal political rotation system, Aliyu acknowledged the delicate nature of power-sharing, cautioning that internal party defections have the potential to further destabilize the political landscape.
“You cannot be bad and expect to have your child as an angel. Your child looks at you and the way you behave,” he said, reflecting on leadership behaviour.
