Atiku, Sambo, others, pay visit to Aregbesola ahead of 2027

Former Vice Presidents Atiku Abubakar and Namadi Sambo, on Friday, paid a courtesy visit to former Osun State Governor and ex-Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, at his residence in Ilesa, Osun State.

The visit took place hours before the coronation of Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup as the 49th Owa Obokun and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland, a highly anticipated event scheduled for today.

Their meeting comes amid heightened attention on the royal transition, especially after the Osun State High Court in Ilesa, on Thursday, declined to grant an injunction seeking to stop the coronation, allowing the ceremony to proceed as planned.

Atiku shared a video from the visit on his verified X handle, showing himself, Sambo, and Aregbesola engaged in animated discussion over breakfast.
