In a shocking development, gospel musician Oluwatimileyin Ajayi was taken into custody on Sunday when it was discovered that he had his girlfriend’s severed head.
The startling find, which happened close to a church, shocked locals and internet groups.
A social media user, Arike, recounted the moment on Twitter, saying, “I got the shock of my life when we apprehended a Yahoo ritualist with a human head (his girlfriend) inside a nylon bag near our church during service. I always thought I’d only see such things on TV, but today, I saw it live.”
The chilling post quickly went viral, sparking further outrage.
While Arike’s account left out many details, Josephine Adeh, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), confirmed the arrest.
She clarified, however, that the incident occurred in Nasarawa State, not Abuja. “To clarify, the incident did not happen in the Federal Capital Territory but in Nasarawa State.
We encourage accurate reporting for better public understanding,” Adeh stated.
Witnesses described how Timileyin was seen walking with a black nylon bag, which seemed to attract flies. When he was stopped and searched, the gruesome discovery of a fresh human head was made.
Timileyin allegedly admitted to being in a relationship with the woman for over a year.
The news has sparked a wave of reactions, with Nigerians flocking to Timileyin’s TikTok account, where he had previously posted content as a creator.
In one video, he boldly told his followers, “No village person can stop them,” hinting at possible ritualistic motives behind the horrifying crime.
