Salawudeen, 33, a resident of Tudun-Fulani in Minna, was attacked by a group of five assailants. After robbing him of ₦95,000, one of the attackers, identified as Danladi, who remains at large, fatally stabbed Salawudeen. The suspects in custody are Mustapha Ibrahim, alias “Sniper” (19), Shamson Rabiu (21), Bashar Aliyu, alias “Gizo” (20), and Abdullahi Umar (19).

Confirming the arrests, Superintendent of Police Wasiu Abiodun, the spokesperson for the Niger State Police Command, stated that the gang had gathered on February 27 in Rafin-Yashin after learning that the photographer had recently received a large sum of money. They plotted the robbery and later attacked him at his home that night.

“Upon interrogation, the suspects admitted to the crime. They explained that after stealing ₦95,000 from Zaccheaus, they were dissatisfied with the amount and suspected he had lied about the total sum. This led to Danladi stabbing the victim in the stomach,” SP Wasiu revealed.

Further investigation uncovered that the same gang was behind a second attack on August 9, 2024, in Rafin-Yashin. During this assault, the victim initially refused to open his door, but after being threatened with the fate of Salawudeen, he complied. The victim was subsequently attacked with machetes but survived the ordeal.
