President Tinubu, others attend wedding fathia of Deputy Senate President, Emir’s Children
President Bola Tinubu has attended the Jumah Prayer and wedding fathia of the children of the Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibril and the Emir of Bichi, his Highness Nasiru Ado Bayero at the National Mosque, Abuja.
This was made known via videos shared by the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, on Friday, December 13.
The caption reads: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu attends Jumah Prayer and Wedding Fathia of the children of Senator Barau Jibril (cfr) Deputy President of the 10th Senate and his Highness Nasiru Ado Bayero (ofr) Emir of Bichi, at the National Mosque, Abuja.”
The wedding Fatiha of Senator Barau’s son, Jibrin Barau I Jibrin (Abba), and Maryam Nasir Ado Bayero, daughter of the former Emir of Bichi, alongside Aisha Barau I. Jibrin and Engineer Abubakar, son of Dr. Abdulmunaf Yunusa Sarina, President of Azman Group of Companies, took place at the National Mosque in Abuja, following the Juma’at prayers.
In a unique display of familial ties, the President acted as both Wakil and Waliy for the children of the Deputy Senate President, with the Speaker of the House of Representatives facilitating the ceremony.
Former Kano Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, served as Waliy to Maryam Bayero, while Senator Tanko Almakura, ex-Governor of Nasarawa State, took on the role of Wakil for Abubakar Sarina.
The ceremony was officiated by Imam of the National Mosque, Professor Ibrahim Maqari.
Amongst those who attended the event were the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Tajuddeen Abbas, governors, senators, national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and nephew of the former president Muhammadu Buhari, Mamman Daura.
