FG: 9 new Coronavirus cases came to Nigeria by road
Nine out of twelve latest coronavirus confirmed cases came into Nigeria by road.
Health Minister Osagie Ehanire, disclosed this at a Presidential Task Force Media briefing in Abuja on Wednessday.
According to the Minister the group of Nine came into the country from Benin Republic by road. “The patients were originally coming from Cote d’Ivoire and had passed through Benin Republic from where they were to link their destination by road”.
He said the “vehicle carrying several people, all Nigerians, was intercepted and the passengers were isolated and tested”.
Osun has so far recorded 14 cases of the disease, the third highest in the country. Lagos state has 82 cases while the federal capital territory (FCT) has 28 COVID-19 patients.
Earlier today Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) had reported 12 new confirmed cases in the Country out of which Osun had 9, 2 recorded in Edo State and 1 in Ekiti State
