Ex-Governor Fayose in closed-door meeting with Olubadan Amid Oyo political tension
Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, on Tuesday held a closed-door meeting with the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, amid growing political tension in Oyo State.
The visit comes in the wake of Fayose’s earlier allegation that Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, was allegedly plotting to dethrone the monarch, alongside emerging controversies surrounding an alleged impeachment move in the Oyo State House of Assembly reportedly linked to developments involving the traditional institution.
Details of the meeting were not disclosed as journalists were not allowed access.
However, before proceeding into the private engagement, Fayose briefly addressed reporters, saying his visit was to show solidarity with the traditional institution.
“I am here to identify with the traditional institution,” he said, adding that “the truth about the whole saga will soon be revealed.”
