Don’t vote for Labour Party – Peter Obi tells his supporters nationwide

Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has called on his supporters to vote for African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidates in the upcoming by-elections, citing Labour Party’s lack of recognised candidates due to an unresolved internal crisis.

In a post on his X handle on Thursday, Obi explained that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has not cleared any Labour Party candidates for the polls.

The by-elections, scheduled for August 16, 2025, will be held in 16 states, covering two senatorial seats, five House of Representatives seats, and nine State Assembly seats.

However, Obi advised his supporters, saying, “Kindly note that because the Labour Party has no recognised candidates by INEC due to the internal crisis.

“I humbly urge every member of Obidient and COPDEM families to go out and vote for the coalition political party, African Democratic Congress (ADC), in their respective states.”
