Multiple people abducted as gunmen block Expressway in fresh attack, two victims rescued
On Friday, April 25, 2025, at approximately 5:45 p.m., five armed men intercepted two private vehicles along the Eleyin village route near Isanlu-Isin in Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State, abducting seven individuals.

The Kwara State Police Command, in collaboration with the military and local vigilante groups, promptly launched a rescue operation.
This swift response led to the successful rescue of two victims, identified as Ganiyu Ajayi and Kolawole Adeyemi.
Efforts are ongoing to secure the release of the remaining five abductees and to apprehend the perpetrators.
This incident marks the third kidnapping in the Kwara South senatorial district within a week. Earlier, several individuals were abducted along the Ilofa-Omu Aran highway, and seven passengers traveling from Abuja to Offa were kidnapped in an Olumoh Express transport bus near Obbo Ayegunle.
In response to the escalating security concerns, the Kwara State Police Command has intensified measures across the region, including aggressive bush combing, strategic patrols, and intelligence-driven operations.
Authorities reassured the public that comprehensive security strategies are being implemented to protect lives and property across the state.
