The President arrived at the occasion in company of Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, and other other governors, including Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State and Ademola Adeleke of Osun State.

The President’s aircraft departed from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at around 12:45 p.m. on Friday, leading a delegation of high-profile dignitaries to the historic event.

The official coronation, taking place at the iconic Mapo Hall, marks the formal installation of Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan, following the passing of Oba Owolabi Olakulehin on July 7, 2025.

Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo State, ascends the revered throne in accordance with the traditional chieftaincy succession system of Ibadanland.

Oba Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo State and senator of the Federal Republic, was chosen as the 44th Olubadan following the passing of Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin.

The National Anthem was immediately sang followed by the anthem of Oyo State to formally kick-start the presentation of Staff of Office to the new Ibadam monarch.
