BREAKING; PDP expels FCT Minister Wike, seven others
The Umar Damagum-led leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, and eight other prominent members over allegations of anti-party activities.
Those removed from the party include National Secretary Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Bature, Adeyemi Ajibade (SAN), Mohammed Abdulrahman, Mao Ohuabunwa, Austin Nwachukwu, George Turner, Abraham Amali, and Dan Orbi.
In addition to the expulsions, the party also dissolved its executive committees in Rivers, Abia, Imo, Plateau, and Enugu states.
The decisions were adopted during the ongoing PDP Elective National Convention in Ibadan, where Chief Bode George, a member of the Board of Trustees, moved the motion for the expulsion of the affected leaders.
Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde followed with a separate motion calling for the dissolution of the state executive committees.
Both leaders argued that the actions were taken in line with Section 33, Subsection 2 of the PDP’s 2017 Constitution, insisting that the measures were necessary to reposition the party and enforce internal discipline.
