Why Peter Obi keeps silent over conviction of Simon Ekpa – Reno Omokri makes further condemnation
Former Presidential Aide, Reno Omokri, has labelled former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, as a tribalist.
According to Omokri, Obi who was quick to act when Dele Farotimi was arrested for criminal defamation might choose to remain silent as Simon Ekpa is being sentenced to six years in prison by Finnish government for terrorism.
Omokri claimed that Obi has a track record of condemning incidents that has to do with either a Northerner or South westerner.
Omokri in a post via his X handle, on Monday, September, 1, however wondered if Obi would turn deaf ears to the recent judgement of a Finish court on Simon Ekpa.
The post reads: “Peter Obi never commented on Simon Ekpa’s arrest by the Finnish government on terrorism charges, although he speedily commented and acted when Deke Farotimi was arrested for criminal defamation. Now that Simon Ekpa has been sentenced to six years in prison for terrorism, Nigerians are waiting to see if Peter Obi will pretend not to hear and stay silent or if he will speak.
“This is the same Peter Obi who appeared on Channels Television on Monday, July 7, 2025, to say that the trial of Nnamdi Kanu ‘doesn’t make sense’.
“Yet, when King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, AKA K1 De Ultimate, was involved in an altercation with ValueJet, Peter Obi pushed for his arrest and trial.
“This is in line with Obi’s tribalistic character. That is Peter Obi’s regular trademark. If it happens in Igboland, Obi will suddenly become deaf, dumb, and blind. But Peter Obi will dance naked in public if it occurs in the North or Southwest.”
