2 ex-Govs, 800,000 others register to join coalition Party in one State as ADC swells

The Rivers State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) claims its membership has surged to over 800,000, with several prominent politicians joining the party.

At a recent press conference, ADC spokesman Luckyman Egila stated that the party has become a “beautiful bride” ahead of the 2027 elections, attracting key political figures. Egila specifically named two former Rivers State governors, Rotimi Amaechi and Celestine Omehia, as new members.

He also announced that Prince Uche Secondus, a former national chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has joined the ADC.

Egila continued, “These persons have left their former parties, and they are now full members of the ADC.

“And you can only become a member of a party when you have registered with that party and issued it with a membership card. So all of them are now full members of the ADC.”

The ADC also now counts former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chief Austin Okpara, and former Minister of Transport, Dr. Abiye Sekibo, among its members in Rivers State.

“The names I have mentioned are all key politicians in Rivers State, and of course, you can’t write these people off. They are all members of the ADC,” he stated.
