Assistant Commissioner of Police [ACP] collapses dies during meeting
Tragedy struck the Ebonyi State Police Command on Tuesday, December 16.
ACP Ogbon-Inu Taiwo Popoola, the Chief of the State Intelligence Department (SID), died after a sudden medical emergency while on active duty.
The drama unfolded during a crucial 10:30 a.m. leadership briefing at the Commissioner’s office in Abakaliki. Without warning, Popoola developed severe breathing difficulties, struggling for oxygen as the meeting ground to a halt.
Colleagues acted instantly, evacuating him to the Police Medical Centre within the headquarters complex. Medical personnel fought hard to stabilize him, but the crisis proved insurmountable. Doctors confirmed his death shortly after arrival, marking a devastating end to a distinguished career.
