As COVID-19 rises, FG to impose Isolated lockdown in Nigeria

As the total number of COVID- 19 patients hit 5,621 in Nigeria as announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Saturday night, the chairman of the Presidential Task Force (PTF), Boss Mustapha, has said the federal government might impose ‘isolated lockdowns’ in certain parts of the country.
According to him, the increase in the number of fresh cases and death has made it pertinent for the federal government to impose isolated lockdowns in some states.
He however maintained that there won’t be total lockdown in the whole country, but for those states, who would be closely monitored for possible intervention as advised by medical experts.
Mustapha cited the federal government’s intervention in Kano State, as an example of how the isolated lockdown might look.
He also assured Nigerians that situations reports in each state is closely monitored, so the federal government would come in when necessary.
Of the 5,621 confirmed cases in the country, 176 deaths have been recorded with 1,472 successfully managed and discharged in the federation.
