Aregbesola begs Nigerians to embrace ADC to dislodge APC ahead of 2027
The National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has urged Nigerians to support the party’s efforts to unseat the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking to a crowd of party supporters in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, Aregbesola described the current APC-led administration as a failure, accusing it of dragging the country backward.
He said the ADC offers a fresh, credible alternative grounded in service, integrity, and competence.
“The ADC is not about empty promises. We are about substance, trust, and real change,” he said.
“We aim to restore Nigeria’s dignity and provide leadership that listens and delivers.”
Aregbesola, a former two-term governor of Osun State, acknowledged that the road ahead may be tough but emphasized that the ADC remains focused on its mission to transform Nigeria.
He warned that the APC may resort to tactics such as misinformation and media attacks to undermine the ADC’s progress.
Despite this, he assured supporters that the party would stay committed to engaging with Nigerians across the country.
He concluded by encouraging citizens from all walks of life to join the ADC’s movement for a more inclusive, compassionate, and capable Nigeria.
Aregbesola said: “This party is for everyone. We welcome you — not as enemies of others, but as Nigerians determined to chart a better path forward.
“We know the game — distractions, smears, provocations. But we will not play it,” he said.
“We are on a mission, and we will stay focused — building quietly, consistently, and with conviction.”
He reiterated that the ADC’s strategy is rooted in the progressive philosophy that once transformed the Western Region — a philosophy that delivered even in the worst of times.
“We used those same principles in Osun to navigate the worst economic crisis in Nigeria’s history — and still delivered measurable progress. This is what Nigeria needs now: grounded, proven, and people-driven.
“We are stepping into a new chapter — one of responsibility, restoration, and meaningful results. The struggles of the past were not in vain. They’ve prepared us to lead with clarity and conviction. The best of what we have to offer is still ahead.”
Aregbesola while advising ADC members not to be baited into unnecessary conflict or distractions, affirmed that, “This is our finest hour”.
