[EXTRA] Train halts for Man who sits on rail track in Lagos, after losing N35,000
A moving train at Cappa/Oshodi in Lagos, has halted for a man on Thursday who sat absent-mindedly on the rail track over loss of N35,000.
The man was resting on his hands placed on his knees while ignoring the blasting horns of the train.
When asked why he ignored the warnings, he said he was on his way to Arena Shopping Complex when he lost N35,000.
“I was on my way to Arena when I realised I had lost N35,000,” he added that the shock of the loss numbed him.
An eyewitness said: “Even I could hear the train horn from a far distance.”
What was most surprising for other eyewitnesses was that it was unusual for a train in motion to stop abruptly.
One eyewitness said: “I don’t want to witness what I did some few years ago in this same place, how a train smashed a man into smithereens right before me.”

BREAKING: Obasa resumed at Lagos Assembly, declares himself as the Speaker
The embattled former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has declared himself the authentic Speaker of the House, saying he has resumed his position as the parliament leader.
Obasa made this known on Thursday after returning to the Assembly Complex under the protection of police and State Security Service operatives.
“I’ve resumed, and I remain the Speaker of the Assembly,” Obasa said.
It was his first time back since his removal on 13 January 2025.
Obasa arrived at the complex with more than 11 police officers and headed straight to the Speaker’s Office, ignoring his colleagues who were seen deliberating in the Assembly’s garden before his entrance.
His return follows a dramatic turn of events at the Assembly, where the security details of the new Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mojisola Meranda, were reportedly withdrawn.
