I no longer enjoy life, hope to leave this world in good faith – Popular Billionaire tells Shetimma

Renowned business mogul, Aminu Alhassan Dantata, has revealed that he no longer enjoys life and he is hoping to depart this world in good faith.

The 91-years-old man, disclose this when he played host to the Vice Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kashim Shettima in Kano.

He said from a youthful age, he had the privilege of meeting many people and had engaged in friendship in all states of Nigeria but could hardly call out 10 who are still alive.

“I have travelled to all the states in Nigeria and I have done things with people across all states, many were friends but sadly, all the people I know, I hardly can call out 10 that are still alive.

“Honestly, as I am right now, I am just waiting for my time. I no longer enjoy life anymore. I hope I depart this world in good faith.

“I hope I did not offend anyone in life. If I offended anyone, I hope they find it in their hearts to forgive me. If anybody has offended me, I have forgiven them.

“I am now the only one left in my family living with grandchildren.”

Dantata, while expressing joy and appreciation for the visit, prayed for Nigeria for everlasting peace and harmony.

“May God not leave us with our efforts alone, we pray for his continued guidance and protection,” he added.

Earlier, Shettima, who was on a consultation visit to the state, pointed that the purpose of the visit is largely to reach out to elder statesmen on the ongoing project in the north ahead of the 2023 general elections.

He embarked on the visitation alongside the state governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Musa Gwadabe, General Lawal Jafaru Isah and Tanko Yakasai

He also visited the ongoing project of Kano Cancer Centre which is on the verge of completion before departing to the airport.

BREAKING: Obasa resumed at Lagos Assembly, declares himself as the Speaker

The embattled former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has declared himself the authentic Speaker of the House, saying he has resumed his position as the parliament leader.

Obasa made this known on Thursday after returning to the Assembly Complex under the protection of police and State Security Service operatives.

“I’ve resumed, and I remain the Speaker of the Assembly,” Obasa said.

It was his first time back since his removal on 13 January 2025.

Obasa arrived at the complex with more than 11 police officers and headed straight to the Speaker’s Office, ignoring his colleagues who were seen deliberating in the Assembly’s garden before his entrance.

His return follows a dramatic turn of events at the Assembly, where the security details of the new Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mojisola Meranda, were reportedly withdrawn.

Ramadan set to commence as Sultan of Sokoto issues directives to Muslim nationwide

The Sultanate Council has formally declared that the hunt for the new moon of Ramadan 1446AH will begin on Friday, February 28.

The Wazirin Sokoto and Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs, Professor Sambo Wali Junaidu, encouraged Muslims to look up at the sky on Friday in anticipation of the new moon in a statement issued Thursday.

He instructed those who spot the moon to report their sightings to the nearest District or Village Head.

Once reported, the sightings will be relayed to the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, who also serves as the President of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, for a formal declaration.
